Computer animation, digital imaging, graphics programming, computer graphics education, interface design; digital video, interactive multimedia, digital art installation, collaboration on the Internet.
As a premier international computer graphics organization, I believe it is our duty to service our members. SIGGRAPH members are often hoping to obtain pertinent information and engaging experiences from the organization. The type of information/experiences and distribution method desired are as varied as the diversity of SIGGRAPH' - s membership. This makes it quite challenging to address this need but I believe we are prepared to take the challenge.
In an ever-changing field it is important to keep abreast of the career opportunities and educational resources available. I coordinated the development and updating of the WWW Educational Directory and am working on a paper version. I am also currently proposing to include career listings in the SIGGRAPH quarterly as well as the WWW site as a member benefit.
I am also interested in creating online activities; discussion forums as well as information postings. I was involved in the initial SIGGRAPH WWW development and the Art and Design online forum. I would like to see more WWW development allowing interaction as well as providing information. One of the unique aspects of the SIGGRAPH organization is its diverse membership. This talented community offers an excellent opportunity for cross-disciplinary, international collaboration and exchange of ideas between artists, educators, researchers, and industry.
I am excited about SIGGRAPH's future. Volunteering for SIGGRAPH has become an important part of my life. I would like to help others find ways of getting involved and becoming an active member of the SIGGRAPH family. The intrinsic rewards are well worth the time spent.
