SPACE is now in its 11th year as a SIGGRAPH Education Committee event. The interest of this exhibit and competition has continued to grow from year to year as has the quality of the entries. The competition provides an excellent opportunity for students w orking with computers to exhibit their creative work. It is open to all students currently attending elementary or secondary schools, colleges or universities. We encourage teachers to have their students make posters and animations using computers, selec t the best works produced in their classes, and enter them in SPACE. The theme for the competition for 1996 was "Digital Jambalaya" in the spirit of this year's conference in New Orleans. The jury selected 47 posters from 194 entries, a record number of submissions. The animation contest was very selective, resulting in an outstanding show. SPACE has traveled for the past four years and will touragain this year. The show travels to 12-14 locations nationally each year. Of special note, for the first time, SPACE '95 traveled in Europe. Additionally, during next year, the a nimations may be seen at the Information Age exhibition in the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.
